Research teams within Intel are exploring the hardware and software infrastructure required for personal servers, wireless sensor networks, and robotics. This site contains Linux kernels (images and source patches), boot loaders (images and source), tools and apps for XScale boards.

  • July 26, 2006: Stargate 2.2 set reatime clock, shutdown, and reboot on alarm verified. (See RTC alarm resume and/or power-on.)
  • July 17, 2006: Stargate 2.2 battery tests under full power. (See Battery tests.)
  • July 10, 2006: Stargate 2.2 runs for 2 days and 16 hours without failing. (See Stress test.)
  • June 6, 2006: Stargate 2.1 Floating point 40% faster than Stargate 1 with another 12x possible. (See Floating Point Performance.)

The Stargate 2 has its roots in The Personal Server which is a new class of mobile device that utilizes advances in processing, storage, and communication technologies to provide ubiquitous access to personal information and applications through the existing fixed infrastructure. The Stargate 2's general design and rich set of connects also makes it an ideal gateway and robotics platform.
